THE FIFA-MA Potential Young Referee Course 2026, aimed at produc­ing a new generation of professional football referees for Myanmar opened on 17 June at the press conference hall of Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, according to the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF).

 

The course forms part of the MFF’s on­going efforts to improve refereeing standards and support the development of Myanmar football.

 

A total of 35 partici­pants, including 30 male trainees and five female trainees, are attending the course, which runs from 17 to 23 June.

 

The opening cere­mony was attended by MFF Joint General Sec­retary U Si Thu Win, My­anmar National League Vice-Chairman (1) and Chief Executive Officer U Ko Ko Thein, MFF Ex­ecutive Committee mem­ber Daw Thein Thein Aye, Referees Commit­tee member U Tun Hla Aung, FIFA referee in­structors, federation officials and committee members.

 

During the ceremo­ny, officials encouraged the trainees to make full use of the knowledge and practical experience gained from the course and strive to become internationally qualified professional referees in the future. — TWA/KZL
