NEARLY 100 athletes took part in the 2026 Interna­tional Olympic Day com­memorative gymnastics competition, organized by the Myanmar Gymnastics Federation under the lead­ership of the Department of Sports and Physical Educa­tion under the Ministry of Sports, at the federation’s training gym inside Kyaik­kasan Sports Ground, Tam­way Township, Yangon, on 21 June.

 

The event opened with remarks by Myanmar Gymnastics Federation President U Kaung Zaw, followed by musical perfor­mances by popular singer Ni Ni Khin Zaw.

 

After a demonstration performance by youth na­tional gymnasts, compe­titions were held across men’s and women’s age-group categories. Around 100 gymnasts participated in various events showcas­ing strength, flexibility and technical skills.

 

At the conclusion of the competition, the fed­eration chairman, Ni Ni Khin Zaw, along with other officials from the Myanmar Gymnastics Federation, awarded prizes to the win­ners of first, second, and joint third places. — Bala/ KZL
