Premium Myanmar rice, avocado oil wow buyers at KIE 2026
The Myanmar Embassy organized a “Myanmar Pavilion” at the Korea Import Expo (KIE 2026), held from 23 to 25 June at COEX (Hall B) in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, to promote trade, investment, and tourism.
The expo was hosted by the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) in collaboration with South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, KOTRA, and various foreign embassies.
On 23 June, U Myo Myint Maung, Chargé d’Affaires/Ambassador of the Myanmar Embassy, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition that featured 166 booths from over 30 countries.
At Booth F06, led by Commercial Attaché Daw Win Pa Pa Thu, products, including rice, avocado oil, and lacquerware, were displayed, with a digital display of Myanmar’s tourism attractions.
Visitors showed particular interest in avocado oil, Pawsan rice, butter beans, and ready-to-eat food items. Discussions and inquiries were also held regarding the import of Sakata chilli varieties, obtaining samples of Pawsan, and collaboration on golf tourism.
The Myanmar Embassy and the Commercial Attaché will continue to coordinate with relevant ministries and organizations to implement the business cooperation opportunities arising from this specialized B2B import exhibition. — TWA/ZN
