THE Myanmar Insurance Association, under the guidance of the Insurance Business Requlatory Board(IBRB) of the Ministry of Finance and Rev­enue, hosted a launching ceremony of the Credit Guarantee Insurance for the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on 7 July 2026 at Park Royal Hotel.

This scheme is designed to enable MSMEs to secure business loans when they lack immovable collateral. Wunna Kyaw Htin Dr Maung Maung Thein, Chairman of the Myanmar Insurance Asso­ciation, explained the Credit Guarantee Insurance policy, and attendees also actively engaged in the discussion.

Yangon Region Minister Dr Myo Thaw for Elec­tricity, Energy, Industry and Transport, Daw Khin Saw Oo, Chair of the Myanmar Banks Association, Secretary of the Financial Regulatory Department, the director-general of the Business Requlatory Board(IBRB), officials of Myanmar Insurance Asso­ciation, MSME Association and General Insurance Companies attended the event. — NN/KK
