AUTHORITIES are systematically demolishing illegal buildings in Shwe Kokko and the KK Park areas of Myawady Township, Kayin State, where online scam and illegal gambling operations were based, while destroying equipment used for these activities. Yesterday, a 17-storey illegal building in the Shwe Kokko area was additionally demolished through controlled blasting.
Of the 77 buildings used for online scam and gambling activities in Shwe Kokko, 57 were designated for demolition using machinery and 20 for controlled demolition by blasting. The latest 17-storey building was one of the 20 buildings scheduled for blasting.
To date, joint departmental teams have systematically demolished 76 illegal buildings used for online scam and gambling operations. The remaining illegal building will also be demolished in due course. — MNA/MKKS
