UNION Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received Mr Jaime Nadal Roig, Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to Myanmar, and his team at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. They discussed the signing of an MoU between the ministry and UNFPA to implement joint projects.
They also discussed the 2024 Population and Housing Census Union Report, the completion of reports for four regions and the ongoing publication of reports for the remaining regions and states, the use of the 2024 Census results in national development, procedures to facilitate the entry and residence of UNFPA’s foreign staff, and ways for UNFPA to continue strengthening cooperation with the ministry.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Lin Zaw Tun, Director-General U Ye Tun Oo of the Department of Immigration, Acting Director-General U Aung Min of the Department of Population, and other officials. — MNA/MKKS
