A total of 26,567 acres of rain-fed paddy and other rain-fed crops have been planted during the 2026 rainy-season cultivation period in Ngape Township, Minbu District, Magway Region, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.

Farmers in Ngape Township primarily rely on water from the Manchaung Reservoir and the Yinshi Reservoir to cultivate crops during the summer, rainy, and winter growing seasons.

To support successful cultivation, local farmers are being provided with good agricultural practices (GAP), agricultural inputs, and quality seeds and seedlings for rain-fed paddy and other crops. Field staff from the relevant departments are closely monitoring crop conditions, implementing measures to prevent the outbreak and spread of pests and diseases, and delivering agricultural extension and training through online platforms.—Ma Yu (Ngape)
