MAGWAY Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko visited Taungdwingyi Township on 25 July to inspect a free medical outreach programme, attend a village land grant distribution ceremony, and review the completion of the Zwe sluice gate project.
At No 4 Basic Education High School (Moehti), specialist doctors from the Magway Geneal Hospital provided free medical treatment under the government’s plan. The team, comprising surgeons and specialists in dentistry, dermatology, pediatrics, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and general medicine, treated 665 patients, including 113 referred cases. The chief minister met patients, offered words of encouragement, and distributed medicines and nutritional supplies.
He later attended a ceremony where 75 residents of Natsingon Village received village land lease certificates covering 12.75 acres under the plan.
In the afternoon, the chief minister inspected the newly completed reinforced concrete Zwe sluice gate near Thaphankon Village. Built with a K765 million Union government budget, the project is expected to improve irrigation for about 650 acres of farmland, according to the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department. — Naung Naung (Beikthano Land)/ST
