Sukali, 30 March

In a bid to prevent the risk of electrocution, relevant department personnel led by the Township General Administration Department cut down the branches of the trees near power cable lines and checked over power cables and boxes along Thitsa and Khayay roads in the town of Sukali in Myawady district, Kayin state this morning.

Electricity has been distributed in Sukali town through 400 V power lines attached to concrete posts since 2016. There could be the danger posed by electricity when those power lines were covered with trees. So, we were clearing the threes’ branches and checking over electric wires and boxes, said U Htin Aung Kyaw, in-charge of Electric Distribution Enterprise (Sukali).

Electricity is being supplied by 100 KVA generator to the town from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the assistance of Kayin State Government as the National Grid alone could not satisfy the local demand.— Aung San Tun ( IPRD)
