MYANMAR U-19 team suffered a narrow loss to China U-19 team, losing 3-2 in the third place match at the invitational football tournament in Viet Nam yesterday.
Both teams fielded their key players and performed all out from the beginning of the match.
The China team scored the opening goal at the 9 minute mark, as Myanmar’s defenders lost their concentration and China’s strikers created their opportunities at the goal.
The opening goal was scored by China’s Leng Jixuan.
But three minutes later, in a penalty shoot, team Myanmar scored an equaliser by youth star La Min Htwe, which the keeper was unable to block.
By using a power play and accurate passing, team Myanmar scored the leading goal at the 37 minute-mark through the efforts of Myanmar’s Aung Ko Ko and his pass, which confused China’s defenders.
But the China team equalized with a goal by Ma Fuyu at the 45 minute mark, and the score at the end of the first half was 2-2.
In the second half, with changing tactics, China created more opportunities.
When a Myanmar player left the match after receiving a red card due to rough play, Myanmar played with 10 players.
With fewer players, Myanmar could not withstand the attacks, and China scored the winning goal at the 70 minute mark.
