A Lethwei challenge between Myanmar fighters and Thai warriors to mark the merit sharing ceremony of a religious building will be held in Panga Village, Thanbyuzayet Township in Mon State on 7 and 8 April in conjunction with an entertainment programme.
    

 

On 7 April, Myanmar’s golden belt champion Lin Htet Aung will clash with a Thai opponent in the main event. On 8 April, golden belt champion Min Htet Aung will compete with a Thai warrior while another warrior Ye Thway Ni from Taungkalay Club will battle a Thai fighter in the co-main event. Young Lethwei artist Pat Kyaw Lin Naing will fight against a Thai challenger and Nat Khat Aung faces off Daung Phyu. There will also be other bouts with up and coming fighters during the event. 

 


The Lethwei fight will be staged in conjunction with an entertainment to be performed by movie star Thin Zar Wint Kyaw and model Shwe Hmont. The Lethwei event will be broadcast live on CANAL+ channel.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
