Union Minister for the State Counsellor’s Office U Kyaw Tint Swe and Union Minister for Commerce Dr. Than Myint, who are Vice Chairman and Secretary of Myanmar Special Economic Zone Central Body respectively, visited Myeik in Taninthayi Region on 29 March. They arrived in Myeik Public Corporation’s office where they heard report by Pyae Phyo Tun International Company Ltd. Chairman U Hla Than on the prawn breeding projects in Kyar Gyi Oh, Mingyi island, Kyunsu Township, Myeik District.
Next, the Union Ministers travelled to Wa Ale island in Bokpyin Township and inspected the Wa Ale Eco Resort built there. The resort is built to preserve the natural environment, uses systematic waste management, and filters seawater into freshwater.
On 30 March, the Union Ministers travelled to Aung Bar village-tract in Kawthoung District and inspected the construction process of 26 new hotels by K Future Co. Ltd.
They next arrived in Kyun Phila Hotel in Kawthoung Township and met with General Manager Mr. Steffan. They were explained Yoma Group’s hotel and tourism business and questioned him on their preparation to preserve the natural environment, disposing waste properly, sanitizing polluted water, and harnessing solar power for energy and gave suggestions as necessary. They then observed the dry cleaning machine and extraction of freshwater in process.
Later in the evening, the Union Ministers visited Victoria Cliff Resort on Nyaung Oo Phee island near Zadetkyi island, Kawthoung District, and received a tour of the premises by its owner Daw Khin Thet Thet Lwin.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
