The closing of a Myanmar traditional martial arts (Thaing) course took place at a youth development center certified by the Department of Social Welfare in Meiktila, Mandalay Region on 1 April.
    

 

At first, member of the Myanmar Thaing Federation and Mandalay Region Thaing Sub-committee Sayargyi U Aung Myo gave a speech and Myanmar Thaing master Sayargyi U Maung Maung Aye explained the purpose of the course. Next, the trainees demonstrated their skills of basic techniques of Bando. The course was jointly organized by the Sports and Physical Education Department under the Ministry of Health and Sports and Myanmar Thaing Federation.
    

 

The course was conducted with the aim of promoting and conserving Myanmar martial arts techniques among younger generations.—Thein Myint Kyaw (Meiktila)
