A new market under construction in Shwe Min Wun Ward in Sagaing has been about 75 percent finished, according to a source from Sagaing City Development Affairs Committee.
The stake-driving ceremony for the new bazaar was held on 9 June 2018. Presently, construction of the two-storied market is nearly 75 percent completed and it is expected to be opened to public on 1 May this year, said Chairman of the Sagaing City Development Affairs Committee U Win Naing. “We have already sold out some stalls,” he said.
The Y-shaped market consists of 222 shops and the prices for the stalls are set at Ks. 20 million, Ks. 15 million, Ks. 7.5 million and Ks. 1.5 million. The stalls were sold to the bazaar sellers who are currently operating their businesses on a prioritized basis.—Ko Min
