A ceremony to donate cash assistance to the homes for the aged and kindergartens which were established on a self-reliant basis was held at the meeting room of the Department of Social Welfare in Myingyan, Mandalay Region on 3 April.

At the ceremony, the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Sein Myint gave a speech before Assistant Director of the Department of Social Welfare Daw Nang Mauk Hsai explained the purpose of the cash assistance. Afterwards, the lawmaker and the official presented more than Ks. 13 million for the homes for the aged and kindergartens through concerned officials. Two homes for the aged were set up in Taungtha and Myingyan Townships.

There are 11 kindergartens in which 3 kindergartens were opened by the district maternal and child welfare association and eight kindergartens were established on a self-reliant basis. All kindergartens are certified by the Department of Social Welfare.—Zaw Min Naing (Myingyan)
