THE Tatmadaw forces fought with AA group on 3 April near Wakoatchaung Village in Buthidaung Township of Rakhine State, killing six, according to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

 

On Wednesday afternoon, the security forces received a tip that about 150 AA members were camping near the Saidin Creek close to the village, following which, they carried out security operations in the area.

 

In the fighting, six Muslims, who were with the AA group, were killed.

 

The slain members were from the Thayatpyin, Daphyuchaung, Kintaung, Htaiktupauk, and Phonenyoleik villages.

 

Nine other insurgents were also injured in the clash, and are receiving treatment at the Tatmadaw Hospital in Buthidaung. They are being interrogated, the release from the military stated.

 

The Tatmadaw forces are continuing security operations to ensure the rule of law prevails in the area, according to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.— MNA
