Police members from Mohnyin Anti-Drug Squad-3 yesterday intercepted a motorbike driven by a man named Sein Maung on Mawhan-Taungseinlayhmaw Road, near Nanpintchaung, Mawhan Village in Mohnyin Township and seized 2160 stimulant tablets and heroin weighing 3 grams from him, according to information released by Myanmar Police Force.

 

In a similar incident, policemen from Mandalay(North) Anti-Drug Squad-17 yesterday stopped a vehicle driven by Naing Lin with Ma Mon Kya Aung onboard at 16 miles checkpoint, Patheingyi Township and discovered 200 stimulant tablets, 2.5 grams of canabis, 990 grams of ICE stimulant drugs and a mobile phone. As a result of further investigation, the authorities continued searching in the apartment of Naing Lin and Ma Mon Kya Aung in Ward-3, South Okkalapa, Yangon, and confiscated 442 stimulant pills and 18 grams of hashish from their possession.  

 

Similarly, police members from Lashio Police Station on 3 April intercepted a motorcycle driven by Aung Min Thu on Ayechanmay Road, Ward-10 in Lashio and confiscated 1750 stimulant pills and heroin weighing 11.2 grams from him.

 

In a similar incident, policemen from Taunggyi Anti-Drug Squad-25 on 4 April searched a motorbike driven by Aik Win at 12/2 mile post on Loikaw-Pinlaung-Aungban road near Nantaing Village in Kalaw Township and discovered opium blocks weighing 4.5 kilos and a mobile phone from him.

 

The authorities filed charges against all suspects in connection the illegal business under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MPF
