Water supply measures are being undertaken in rural areas in Minbu Township, Magway Region to ensure sufficiency of drinking water in summer, according to a source from the Department of Rural Development.

Accompanied by staff, Daw Mya Thet Htwe, Assistant Director of the DRD inspected work progress on digging up three tube wells, constructing three water tanks capable of storing 2400 gallons of water and three water treatment plants in three separate villages in Minbu Township on 7 April. Above-mentioned water supply projects are being implemented by using Ks. 42.705 million allotted by the DRD in the fiscal year 2018-2019. The official called for meeting the set standard and timely completion of the project.

 

Constriction of water treatment plants and water tanks has been about 80 percent finished, said U Aung Phone Lin, Deputy Staff Officer from the DRD. Upon completion of the projects, 1,460 local people from 329 households from three villages will have water access, he added.—Nyein Thu (Salin)
