Shwebo, 8 April

Fire broke out at around 10:50 pm yesterday in a house in Shadaw Village, Shwebo Township, Shwebo District in Sagaing Region.

The fire was thought to have started from overheated electrical wires installed in the house of U Tun Lin, 34, son of U Toh in Shadaw Village. 15 firemen from the district Fire Services Department rushed to the scene to fight the fire with the use of two fire engines in cooperation with 200 locals and the blaze was extinguished within  20 minutes.

About K 652800 worth properties were damaged in the fire. Authorities filed a case against U Tun Lin for his negligence.—Chit San (Khin-U)
