Four people died and seven were missing after sudden strong rainfall triggered floods in southern Chinese city of Shenzhen Thursday night, local authorities said Friday.

The floods flushed away a number of riverway workers in the districts of Luohu and Futian, according to the city's emergency management bureau.

Search and rescue work is underway.
