Myeik, 12 April
A summer basic music course concluding ceremony was held at the training hall of BEHS-1 in the town of Myeik, Taninthayi region at 9:00 am today.
The course was organized by a music group comprised of old students from BEHS-1 Myeik with the aim of sharing musicianship.
MP U Soe Paing Htay of Pyithu Hluttaw, on behalf of the trainees’ parents, thanked to music lesson teachers for conducting the course in order to help schoolchildren know basic music knowledge extensively as music lessons have been included in the new education system. Then, the course trainers made concluding remarks.
The trainees learned how to play Myanmar traditional short drum, piano, guitar and keyboard and read international standard music codes in the course that started on 18 April.
After receiving certificates, schoolchildren performed music skills acquired in the course.—Zaw Myo Naing, Myeik district IPRD
