Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than attended the ceremonies to inaugurate the Myawady Town entrance signboard and Martyr’s Park gateway held at Myawady yesterday morning.

 

First Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker accompanied by Kayin State Minister for Planning, Finance and Development Affairs U Than Naing, Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Sein Bo, State Hluttaw representatives U Aik Kyan Kham and U Thant Zin Aung, district administrator, township administrator and departmental officials attended the inauguration ceremony of the Myawady Town entry signboard “Welcome to Myawady” held near Nabayathukha Pagoda on Asia Road in Myawady Township. The ceremony started with an entertainment programme of songs and ethnic national dances like Kayin traditional don dances.

 

Next township Development Affairs Committee Executive Officer Assistant Director U Saw Robert Htoo explained details about the town entry signboard and township Development Affairs Committee member U Sein Thaung explained about the reasons for constructing the signboard. This was followed by local elder U Soe Min Lwin delivering words of thanks on constructing the signboard in a short time frame. The Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker and party then opened the entry signboard by cutting the ceremonial ribbon, sprinkled scented water onto the signboard and took a commemorative group photo. The town entry signboard was constructed in little more than a month at a total cost of over K 22 million consisting of union funds and donation from seven people.

 

Afterwards Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than and party went to attend the opening ceremony of the Martyr’s Park gateway at the Martyr’s Park, Bogyoke Road, Ward 1, Myawady Town. At this opening ceremony Thone Yaung Chal (Tricolor) dance troupe and Nyein Chan Silone (Peace and Unity) dance troupe provided entertainment with dances.

 

After the entertainments, details about the gateway were explained by township development Affairs committee engineer U Thein Naing after which a town elder said words of thanks.

 

Following this Kayin State Minister for Planning, Finance and Development Affairs U Than Naing presented cash awards to the band, pom pom and dance troupes that provided entertainment.

 

Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than, Kayin State Minister for Planning, Finance and Development Affairs U Than Naing, Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Sein Bo, state Hluttaw representatives and departmental officials then opened the gateway by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and sprinkled scented water onto the gateway.

 

After the Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker and party had taken a commemorative group photo with the local people, they inspected the Martyr’s Park and provided necessary advice to the officials.

 

The park gateway was constructed at a total cost of K 25 million from fiscal year 2018-2019 capital fund and the construction was completed within 60 days. – Maung Sein Lwin (Translated by Zaw Min)
