World leaders have condemned Sunday's terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka and expressed sorrow for the victims.
In a message sent to Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono says the people of Japan pray for the repose of the victims and send their condolences to the bereaved families. He says the Japanese people also extend their sympathy to the wounded.
British Prime Minister Theresa May in a Twitter post said the acts of violence against churches and hotels in Sri Lanka are truly appalling.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted that he strongly condemns the horrific blasts in Sri Lanka.
US President Donald Trump also posted on Twitter heartfelt condolences from the people of the United States to the people of Sri Lanka. He says the United States stands ready to help.
