CAPACITY Building Workshop on National Greenhouse Gas Inventory (NGHGI) and Sustainable Waste Management was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting is jointly organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and King Mongkut’s University of Thailand in preparation for implementing the 2nd Myanmar national-level report on climate change, a project between the ministry and the UN Environment.
Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation Dr. Ye Myint Swe said Myanmar, which has been a member of the United Nations Framework for Climate Change Convention-UNFCCC since 1994, would seek advices from the foreign experts for checking the its second report on greenhouse gas emission calculation in this workshop.
The meeting was attended by the director-general of the Environmental Conservation Department, the Director-General of the Land Servey Department and representatives of the related ministries, Associate Professor Dr. Sirintornthep Towpraynoon and professors of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE).
