AN  IED  (improvised  explosive  device) setup by AA group in the compound of Kyaukphyu Town-ship  Administrator  Office  was  defused  by  security  personnel  on the afternoon of 26 April.

 


In  the  incident,  securi-ty  personnel  were  informed  about  a  suspicious  object  about  20  ft.  from  the  front  of  the  dep-uty  district  administrator’s  house.

 


The object was a 6 inch long 4 inch diameter plastic pipe made up  as  an  IED  and  the  security  personnel deactivated it.

 


AA  group  had  been  setting  up and IEDs on public roads as well as placing explosive devices to  destroy  departmental  build-ings.

 


The public was urged to re-port  on  any  suspicious  objects  to security personnel in a timely manner and the security forces will continue to work towards de-fusing  and  deactivating  mines  and explosive devices, according to news released by Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
