Chief Minister of Mandalay Region Dr. Zaw Myint Maung and Regional Minister for Natural Resources and Environment U Myo Thit visited a temporary rescue camp in Chanmyathazi Township on Sunday afternoon.

The regional chief minister and his entourage presented cash and relief supplies donated by the regional government to the fire victims. The fire victims are currently taking shelter at a temporary rescue camp opened at a religious building in Chantaung Ward, Chanmyathazi Township.

113 people from 48 households became homeless after a fire broke out at a house in Chantaung Ward, Chanmyathazi Township on 27 April. No casualties were reported in the fire that torched 32 nearby houses.—Tin Maung (Mandalay)
