State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and entourage departed from Beijing to Kunming by special flight and landed in Changshui International Airport yesterday morning.
They were welcomed by Mr. Zhang Guohua, the Deputy Governor of Yunnan Province, the Myanmar Consul General to China and other officials.
The State Counsellor received Mr. Chen Hao, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China, at the airport’s special guest lounge.
Accompanying the State Counsellor were Union Ministers U Thant Sin Maung, U Win Khaing and U Kyaw Tin, Deputy Ministers U Aung Htoo and U Sett Aung, Myanmar Ambassador U Thit Lwin Ohn and other officials.
Afterwards, the State Counsellor and entourage flew to Cambodia and landed at Phnom Penh International Airport at 4:05pm local standard time.
They were welcomed by Dr. Kantha Phavi, the Cambodian Minister for Women’s Affairs, Ms. Eat Sophea, Cambodia’s Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, U Myint Soe, Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr. Sok Chea, Cambodian Ambassador to Myanmar, and other officials.
The State Counsellor and entourage then went by motorcade to The Great Duke Phnom Penh Hotel where they will be staying.
Afterwards, the State Counsellor visited the Myanmar Embassy and greeted Ambassador U Myint Soe, Military Attaché Brig-Gen Win Ko Ko, staff of the embassy and military attachment and their families.
