Security forces discovered three improvised explosive devices planted by the AA group near Kyauktaw on the Kyauktaw-MraukU Road and deactivated them on Monday.
Acting on a tip that several mines were planted in the vicinity, security forces searched the area yesterday morning and discovered two IEDs, each being six inches in diameter and eight inches in height, planted two feet from the road.
Also, another landmine was discovered some 20 meters north of the first site.
Security forces deactivated the landmines and cleared the area of explosives.
Since January, security forces have cleared 46 landmines planted by the AA group. —MNA
