An inauguration ceremony of a rural road was held in Kungyangon Village, Laymyethna Township in Ayeyawady Region this morning.
On the occasion, the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Soe Khaing gave a speech and Township Administrator U Htoo Htet clarified matters relating to intention and emergence of the road. Next, an official from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation elaborated on the implementation of the “Village Development Plan” and the secretary of the road construction committee spoke words of thanks.
Afterwards, the lawmaker, township administrator, DRD official and the chairperson of the road construction committee cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the new road. The road built with Ks. 12 million funded by the DRD and contributed by local people is of concrete type and measures 1500 ft. in length, 12 ft. in width and 7 ft. in height.
Residents from Kungyangon Village can now use the new bridge in all seasons with greater ease, thereby contributing to socioeconomic development of the area.—Shwe Moe (IPRD)
