No passengers were injured after a Yangon-bound passenger train was derailed in Yedashe Township, Bago Region early this morning.

The accident occurred when a passenger train operated by U Htay Win heading to Yangon from Shwenyaung derailed near mileposts 201/9 and 201/9 on the Yangon-Mandalay Railroad at about 3:25 a.m. today. Two cargo carriages of the train overturned, but no casualties or damages were reported in the accident.
The cause of the derailment is still unknown, according to the railway station master.
The railroad section where the accident occurred is temporarily closed, said an official from the Myanma Railways.—Ko Lwin (Swa)
