Police members from Mandalay(South) Anti-Durg Squad-18 on 10 May intercepted a passenger car on Taunggyi-Meikhtila Road in Kywetatsone Village, Thazi Township, Meikhtila District, Mandalay Region and seized raw opium weighing 6.34 kilos and two mobile phones in the luggage of two passenger, identified as Khum Ti and Khun Win Hlaing.

 

In a similar incident, policemen from Tachilek Anti-Drug Squad-30 on 9 May searched a man, identified as Zelami on Wanmaing Village Road, Sansai Ward(b) in Tachilek and seized 1800 stimulant pills and a mobile phone from him.

 

Police members from Taunggyi Anti-Drug Squad-25 also on the same day stopped a vehicle driven by Aushta (a) Aik Au on Taunggyi-Hopong Road in Taunggyi Township and confiscated 10000 stimulant tablets and a mobile phone from him.

 

The authorities filed charges against the four under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the information released by Myanmar Police Force.—MPF
