THE construction of an em-ployee housing estate with 240 apartments, covered by the Aung Myay Mandalar housing project, and located near Me-Kin Gone Village, Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region has been completed, according to U Thet Naing, Director, Region Urban and Housing Development De-partment.
The government will al-lot homes to employees at the housing estate in June, he said. The Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association (Mandalay) constructed the employee housing estate on a plot of land measuring 33.22 acres with K3,600 million from the Union Government’s budget. The housing estate has a total of 12 five-storey apartments with four 650 square-foot-wide flats on each floor. Construction of the estate began in November, 2017.
“The construction of the apartment buildings and up-grading of the roads is now 100 per cent complete. We have al-ready made arrangements for the supply of electricity. We only need to have the meter boxes installed in all flats. The meter boxes will be received in June. So, we would say the rooms are ready for employees. We are also constructing playgrounds, parks, and car parking areas,” said U Thet Naing.
The government has al-ready provided accommodation to civil servants who are still in service since June, 2018 at 260 apartments covered by the Aung Myay Mandalar housing project, which were funded by K10 billion from the Regional Government’s budget.
“Meanwhile, the govern-ment committee is selecting public service personnel for the 240 units of the employee housing quarters at the Aung Myay Man-dalar real estate, in accordance with the regional government’s policy,” said U Thet Naing.
The Mandalay Region Ur-ban and Housing Development Department will construct a to-tal of 530 flats for government employees in 14 townships by September, 2019, with K8,835 million from the regional gov-ernment’s capital budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.—Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Sub-printing house) (Translated by Hay Mar)
