The Full Moon Day of Kason (Buddha Day) is of religious traditions for the Buddhists across the world. A ceremony to pour water at the Bo tree marking the Buddha Day was held at the Bo tree in the precinct of the Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 


Devotees and pilgrims paid homage to the Buddha Images in the cave of the pagoda, performed acts of merits and kept Sabbaths at the religious edifices.

 


Similarly, water pouring ceremony at the Bo Trees was held at the Buddha Gaya, the Maha That Kya Yan Thi Image, the Yan Aung Myin Shwe Lat Hla, the Lat Lote Taung and the Koe Na Win Pagodas in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

 


In the late afternoon, the 11th anniversary of Kason Festival was celebrated in the precincts of the Uppatasanti Pagoda with the pouring of scented water on the Bo Trees where devotees performed their meritorious deeds.

 


The event was attended by Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo and wife, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr. Myo Aung and wife, members of Nay Pyi Taw Council, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Development committees and departmental heads. —MNA (Translated by Win Ko Ko Aung)
