Representatives from the Rakhine State Peace & Stability Supporting Committee donated relief supplies to internally displaced persons at temporary rescue camps in MraukU Township, Rakhine State this morning.

 

Accompanied by Deputy Township Administrator U Ko Ko Maung, departmental staff and ward administrators, Township Administrator of the General Administration Department U Maung Tha Sein went to five separate rescue camps being opened at monasteries. They presented 548 rice bags to 1,476 displaced people from 421 households. 

 

The displaced people are currently taking shelter at temporary relief camps as they left their homes due to escalating tensions between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA).—IPRD
