The Central Myanmar-China Friendship Association held their 6th annual meeting at Myanmar Sport Hotel in Thuwunna Football Stadium, Yangon, yesterday evening.
Speaking at the meeting, Yangon Region’s Chief Minister, U Phyo Min Thein, said Myanmar and China are evolving from a Paukphaw relationship to a grand strategic relationship. He said associations like this support the social, economic and political aspects of the nation.
Next, the central association’s Chairman, U Sein Win Aung, explained the reason behind the event. After that, donors handed over cash donations to the association which were accepted by Patron U Tin Oo, who gave honorary certificates in return.
In the second programme of the event, association secretary U Soe Myint Tun read the annual report and officials from the branch associations of Mandalay, Lashio-Muse, Mawlamyine and Taunggyi reported on their respective association’s undertakings. Next, joint-financial officer Daw Aye Thu explained the association’s account report, association Vice Chairman U Myo Aung announced the future tasks, and the Chairman concluded the event with a closing speech.
Attending the event were the Deputy Speaker of the Yangon Region Hluttaw, Regional cabinet members, the patrons of the Central Myanmar-China Friendship Association, its officials, and invited guests.
Since its inception, the association has continually strived for social work and regional development and supported developing the human resource, cultural exchange, education, healthcare, businesses and provided help in times of natural disasters. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
