A coordination meeting on rehabilitation of Phakant region migrant workers was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement yesterday morning.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye, Deputy Ministers and officials.

At the meeting Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye explained about rehabilitation works, formation of six sub-groups, work coordination meeting 1/2018 of work group held in Nay Pyi Taw, 39 decisions made at the meeting set as future work processes of the six sub-groups and the reason for calling the meeting.

Next, Union Minister Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe explained about security and rule of law works conducted in Phakant region, difficulties faced, future work processes and cooperation works to be conducted by all.

Deputy Ministers U Tin Myint, Dr. Ye Myint Swe and U Soe Aung, Kachin State minister for security and border affairs also discussed and explained about sub-group wise works and future works.

Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye urged the meeting attendees to conduct sub-group wise field visits and meet with local and civil society organizations to review the effectiveness of prevailing laws, instructions and work processes. Suggestions in the day’s meeting will be compiled and submitted to the security, stability and rule of law committee. —MNA
