A truck loaded with potatoes parked near a fertilizer shop in Aung Mingalar ward, Hlegu town in Nothern Yangon District caught fire in the early morning of May 22.


According to information received, Police Sub-Inspector Kyaw Soe Hein and members and firefighters rushed to the scene and found that the head of a truck loaded with potatoes was being burnt.

A total of 15 firefighters managed to put out the fire in 10 minutes using two fire engines.  The head of the car was destroyed in the fire. The cause of the fire was occurred from a loosely-fitted battery inside the head of the car, according to the inspection.

Win Maung, the driver, was arrested by the police for his negligence, according to Hlegu Myoma Police Station.—Naing Lin
