The world’s biggest books fair was opened at Mandalay Convention Center in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay this morning.
The ceremony was opened by Madalay Regional Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Mandalay Mayor Dr. Ye Lwin, Driector U Myo aung from Read 2 Read (Myanmar) and Group Head of Marketing Mr. Dipak Madhavan from Big Bad Wolf Books.
The Regional Chief Minister gave opening remarks and Director U Myo Aung from Read 2 Read (Myanmar) clarified the purpose of the occasion. Next, the official examined the book fair.
The book fair which continues until 10 June will sell newly printed English books and the price of the books will be discounted from 50 percent to 90 percent. Interested persons can visit the fair free of charge.
The aim of the fair is to create a bridge to inspire the ability and knowledge of people across the world, said Mr. Dipak Madhavan.
A total of over one million of books including classics, fictions, science, love stories and others are being displayed, according to U Myo Aung.
