A mass cycling activity marking the World Bicycle Day which falls on 3 June was held in Mandalay City this morning.

Firstly, the regional chief minister and the deputy minister opened the contest by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. The race commenced at 5:30 a.m. in front of the Mandalay City Development Committee with a starting pistol fired by the deputy minister for health and sports. The participants also took part in a mass physical activity. The donors distributed soft drinks to the participants.

 


Mandalay Regional Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Mya Lay Sein, the lawmakers, the principal of the Sports and Physical Education Institute U Myo Myint Aung, departmental staff, amateur cyclists, students and residents totaling over 700 people took part in the mass cycling activity.
