Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye received Ms. June Kunugi, UNICEF Representative to Myanmar in the May Kha Lar Hall of the office of the Ministry yesterday morning.

During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to emergence of State-level schemes for implementation of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), disabilities prevention measures to conduct mine risk education, continuous cooperation for the information management system, the rights of PWDs’ law, drawing up the National-level Strategic Plan that had been formed with the National Committee, Work Committees and Subcommittees, PWDs registration, carrying out to render social services for the PWDs in states and regions in Myanmar, setting up schemes for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in 4 states and regions in addition to launching the schemes of the mine risk education for the prevention of disabilities. — MNA
