Wuntho 5 June
An inter-village road built under the Village Development Plan (VDP) being implemented by the Department of Rural Development was inaugurated in Wuntho Township, Sagaing Region on 4 June.
The road linking two villages was formally opened by regional lawmakers U Zaw Lin Oo and Daw Khaing Khaing Win, chairman of the township management committee U Nay Myo Tun, an official from the DRD and local authorities. Next, the speeches by the regional legislator and the township management committee chairman followed. Afterwards, those present planted about 250 shady trees and perennial trees on each side of the road.

The 2,900 ft. long, 12 ft. wide and 9 inch thick road and two culverts were built at a cost of more than Ks. 15 million financed by the VDP and donated by local people.—Min Myint Mo
