A collective tree planting ceremony to mark the World Environment Day for 2019 was held in Kanthayar Village, KhinU Township in Sagaing Region this morning.

Chairman of the township management committee U Thein Zaw, officials from the Forest Department and Dry Zone Greening Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, departmental staff, volunteers from social organizations, members of the township women’s affairs organization and local people totaling around 500 people took part in the tree growing ceremony.

The participants planted 850 saplings including teak and hardwood to make the environment clean, green and peaceful during the activity.—San Kyaw Ohn
