A tree planting ceremony to commemorate the World Environment Day took place in the compound of the University of Pakkoku in Pakkoku, Magway Region on 5 June.
    

Firstly, Paokkoku Township Administrator U Myint Hsaung explained matters relating organizing a collective tree planting ceremony to celebrate the World Environment Day. Next, an official from the Forest Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation briefed about the department’s plans, saying saplings will be planted during this raining season in order to make the environment clean, green, and beautiful.
    

Rector of the Pakkoku University Dr. Thet Lwin, deans, faulty members, departmental staff and students planted more than 500 seedlings.—Ko Tamar
