Officials from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement donated relief supplies to the internally displaced persons at temporary rescue camps in some villages in Minbya Township, Rakhine State on 5 June.

A group of local authorities led by Minbya Township Administrator U Tun Nyein Naing, Assistant Director of the DDM Daw Nang Moe Ngwe and staff presented relief items such as clothing and rice to 1,447 displaced people from 336 households who are taking shelter at seven rescue camps through camp in-charges.

They also provided Ks. 50,000 each to 16 people who were injured in gun fighting and Ks. 300,000 each to the families of the deceased who were killed in armed conflicts.—IPRD
