Thonze, 12 June
Two people have died when a train struck a motorcycle they were on, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The accident between the train and motorbike took place at about 9:15 a.m. on 11 June near a level junction between Ngaphyu Kalay and Thonze railway stations near mileposts 63/10 and 63/11 in Thonze Township, Bago Region. The motorcyclist identified as Zaw myo Aung, 30 years old with Daw Hla Myint hit the train while they were crossing the level junction.
The motorcycle died on the spot and the woman was pronounced dead on arrival at a public hospital in Thonze later. An investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—MOHA
