A ceremony to upgrade the Basic Education Middle School into a Sub-High School was held in Pangone Village, Paung Township, Mon State this morning.
At the event, an official from the Township Education Office, Pangone Village Administrator, Headmistress of Zinkyaik B.E.H.S, members of school development committee, teachers and students cut a ribbon to open the school.
The school was first opened as a Basic Education Primary School in 1949 and promoted to a Post-Primary School in 1999. After which it was promoted to Basic Education sub-Middle School in 2001 and to a Basic Education Middle School in 2017. Now, it was upgraded into the Basic Education Sub-High School this 2019-2020 academic year.
Students from Thinpaungchaung, Sapalinchyan, Tharyargone, Pangone villages are studying in the school.—Zin Myo Thu
