Hsinbyukyun, 16 June
    

The rainy season collective tree-planting activity was held at the township sports grounds in Hsinbyukyun Township, Magway Region on 15 June.
    

At first, an official from the Forest Department presented 400 shady trees and 180 saplings to the chairperson of the township National league for Democracy, the township administrator and concerned officials. Then the participants planted the saplings at designated places. Policemen, firefighters, governmental staff, members of the township maternal and children welfare association, volunteers from local social organizations and residents were involved in the activity.
    

In the evening, renowned cartoonist Aw Pi Kyel and writer Maung Tin Thit gave talks under the title named “Let’s plant trees in Hsinbyukyun” at the basic education high school.—Soe Moe Thu (Salin)
