Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla visited a drinking water supply facility donated by the Central Command and Mitta Yayzin Rural Area Water Supply Society and donors in Ngathayauk, NyaungU Township, Mandalay Region, yesterday.

Speaking at the meeting, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing stressed the importance of producing local products meeting required quality standards and supplying the goods with modern packaging in attempts to get access to local and foreign markets.
As increasing income of the people can lead to development of the region, the people should transport local products not only by road and but also by waterways using the Ayeyawady River to increase market share, said the Senior General.
The Senior General said he understood that the main challenge for the agricultural sector in the region was getting access to water supply, pledging to report the situation to the State and to find ways by which the Tatmadaw could help the farmers.
At the meeting, the Senior General presented food, Dentomec tooth pastes and tooth brushes to the local people.
Afterwards, the Senior General and his entourage visited the Myanandar Kyaukhti Pagoda of Bagan Bo Cho, who fought the colonial rulers.
