With a collaborative effort involving the township Sports and Physical Education Department and the township Women Affairs Association, the opening ceremony of Myanmar martial arts training course was launched at the sports stadium of Laymyathna township in Hinthada district, Ayeyarwady region this morning. 

 

At the ceremony, the township women affairs association chairperson Daw May Zin Phyo said that the training course was intended to help boost the capability of young girls and children in the township in accordance with seven future plans of the association and to train young girls to be able to protect themselves from violence. The chairperson also urged the trainees to learn the subjects hard till the end of the training and to make an effort to become good athletes who can glorify the country. Then, U Tay Zar Myo, head of the township SPED said that the course is aimed at distributing Myanmar martial arts among youths and helping young schoolchildren acquire martial arts skills. 

 

Martial arts instructor U Hla Myint and U Kyaw Kyaw Thu from Myanmar martial arts federation will teach basic martial arts lessons to 126 trainees in every weekends till July 14, it is learnt.—Shwe Moe (IPRD)
