State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who was in Bangkok, Thailand to attend the 34th ASEAN Summit attended the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) held at the Athenee Hotel, Pimarn Siam Hall at 3:30 p.m. local standard time.

At the interface meeting Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) delivered an opening remark and AIPA President Mr. Chuan Leekpi delivered a speech.

Next, the State Counsellor attended the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Youth at 3:50 p.m. local time. At this interface meeting Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) delivered an opening remark.

The State Counsellor was accompanied by Union Minister U Kyaw Tin and officials to these interface meetings.

Afterwards, the State Counsellor attended the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC).

At this interface meeting Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) delivered an opening remark and ASEAN-BAC Chairman Mr. Khun Arin Jira delivered a speech.

The State Counsellor was accompanied by Union Ministers U Thaung Tun and U Kyaw Tin and officials to this interface meeting.

Later at 5 p.m. local time, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended the 34th ASEAN Summit (Plenary) meeting held at the Athenee Hotel, Grand Hall.

The meeting was attended by heads of state and heads of government of ASEAN countries, the ASEAN Secretary-General and officials.

At the meeting Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) delivered an opening remark on the 34th ASEAN Summit (Plenary) meeting.

The meeting then discussed and exchanged views on matters relating to establishment of the ASEAN community and increasing friendship towards sustainable development.

Following this Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha (Ret.) delivered a closing speech of the 34th ASEAN Summit (Plenary) meeting.

The State Counsellor was accompanied by Union Ministers U Thaung Tun and U Kyaw Tin, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to ASEAN U Min Lwin, Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Myo Myint Than and officials to the 34th ASEAN Summit (Plenary) meeting.

Later in the evening the State Counsellor attended a dinner hosted by Prime Minister of Thailand in the Athenee Tower Crystal Hall for ASEAN heads of state and heads of government attending the 34th ASEAN Summit. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
